Apple Roll

4 med. apples (cooking)
1 1/2 sugar
2 c. water

Peel core - chop apples fine. Put sugar and water in deep pan over slow fire. Roll rich biscuit dough to 1/4" thickness. Spread with chopped apples. Roll. Cut in 1 1/2" pieces. Place cut side down in hot syrup. Cut pieces of shortening on top and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Bake in oven until brown.
