5: four hours fresh Northwest breeze light fog. Sea rough. General duties. 1st asst went to Newport & returned to station 3 P.M.

6: Fresh Northwest breeze with light fog for the first part of twenty four hours. Last part of twenty four hours fresh Northwest breeze with thick fog. Sea smooth. General duties. I.L. Smith 2nd asst went to Newport & returned 1 P.M.

7: Light variable N.W. to S.E. wind with light fog first part of 24 hours. Last part of 24 hours light S.E. wind with light fog to dry weather. Sea smooth. General duties. 1st asst Edward Rice shading up garden.

8: Light S.E. wind with thick fog first part of twenty four hours. Last part of 24 hours light S.E. wind with thick fog. Sea smooth. General duties. 1st asst Edward Rice went to Newport & returned 1 P.M.

9: Light S.E. wind with light fog first part of 24 hours. Last part of 24 hours light S.E. to N.W. wind with light fog to cloudy but dry weather. Sea smooth. General duties of the day. Filled the oil tanks today.

10: Light N.W. to S.E wind with light showers first part of 24 hours. Last part of 24 hours S.E. to S.W. wind. with light showers. Sea smooth. General duties. First asst I.L. Smith went to Newport and returned 1 P.M.

11: Light Southwest to Northwest wind with light showers first part of 24 hours. Last of twenty four hours light to Northwest wind with dry clear weather. Sea very rough. General duties.

12: Light N.W. wind with dry clear weather first part of 24 hours. Last part of 24 hours light N.W. wind with dry clear weather. Sea smooth. General duties. 2nd asst went to Newport & returned 1 P.M. 1st asst went 2 P.M. & returned 7 P.M.

13: Light Northwest to strong southwest wind, dry first part of twenty four hours, last part of twenty four hours strong southwest wind with dry but cloudy weather. Sea rough. General duties.

14: Strong southwest wind with showers of rain first part of twenty four hours. Last part of twenty four hours strong S.W. wind with showers of rain. Sea rough. General duties.

15: Strong S.W. wind with heavy rain first part of 24 hours. Last part of 24 hours moderate S.W. wind with dry clear weather. Sea rough. General duties. 1st asst went to Newport & returned 1 P.M.

16: Light Southwest to Southeast wind first part of twenty four hours. Last part of twenty four hours light southeast to East wind with showers to dry but cloudy. Sea very rough. General duties.

19: Light Northwest wind to fresh northwest breeze with thick damp fog first part of twenty four hours. Last part of 24 hours fresh N.W. breeze with thick damp fog. Sea rough. General duties.

21: Light variable winds these 24 hours. First part of 24 hours cloudy but dry - Last part of 24 hours light showers - Sea smooth - General duties for the day - Had six visitors today - Keeper Frank M. Plummer returned to the station at 1 P.M. from Portland where he has been on leave of absence.

Head Keeper - Frank Plummer, First Assistant -Edward Rice, *Laborer - Isaac L. Smith *Note the position of Isaac L. Smith was "Laborer" until he was official hired and sworn in as "Second Assistant keeper" in November 1891. From June 1890 to November 1891 the position of 2nd Assistant keeper (which required a "trained" keeper to operate the lamp) remained unfilled.
