June 21: Fresh and moderate breeze N. W. these 24 hours with clear fine and warm weather - Sea very smooth - Keeper working in garden - 2nd asst working on the road today - Mr. Rice 1st asst went to Newport to get some medicine for his eye.

22: Light N. West wind little damp first part of 24 hours - Last part of 24 hours light variable winds rain showers - Sea smooth - General duties for the day - Keeper went to Newport to take the mail & get supplies - Left the station at 9:30 A.M. - Had seven visitors today.

23: Light variable winds these 24 hours first part of 24 hours light rain showers - Last part of 24 hours fair weather - Sea smooth - General duties for the day - Keeper returned to the station at 11 A.M.

24: Light N. West to S. East wind first part of 24 hours - Last part of 24 hours light variable winds and calm with fair weather during 24 hours - Sea smooth - 2nd asst showing four visitors in the tower - 1st asst working in the garden & went fishing - Keeper working on the annual & quarterly returns - Also went fishing today - Keeper [cooking ???] up the hay in yard.

25: Light variable winds and calm these 24 hours first part of 24 hours light rain showers - Last part of 24 hours clear fine and warm weather - General duties for the day - Keeper and 1st asst putting hay in barn - Had three visitors today.

26: Light variable winds and calm first part of 24 hours - Last part of 24 hours light wind to moderate breeze N. West with fair weather during 24 hours - Sea very smooth - General duties for day - Keeper working on annual & quarterly reports - 1st asst went fishing - 2nd asst went to Newport.

27: Light variable winds & calm first part of 24 hours - Last part of 24 hours light wind to moderate breeze N. West clear fine and warm weather - Sea very smooth - General duties for the day - Keeper went to Newport on important business - 2nd asst went fishing - Also getting stove wood into his celler - Mr. John Fitzpatrick hauling wood for 2nd asst keeper.

West with clear fine weather during 24 hours - Sea very smooth - General duties for the day - Keeper went fishing and working on annual and quarterly reports - 2nd Asst. went up north beach and getting his wood into his cellar today - 1st Asst. Edward Rice left the station at 10:30 A.M. to go to Portland again to see Doctor & get treatment again on his eye - Sighted U.S. War Steamer Monterrey N. West of Light at 3:55 going north.

29: Light wind to moderate and fresh breeze N. West these 24 hours with clear fine weather during 24 hours - Sea smooth - Keeper went over on beach digging clams - showing 17 visitors in tower - Also working on annual returns - 2nd Asst went to Newport.

30: Moderate to fresh breeze N. West these 24 hours with clear fine weather during 24 hours - Sea smooth - Keeper completed makeing out annual & quarterly & monthly returns - Also went claming & working in garden - 2nd asst getting wood in celler - Steamer Willamette Valley arrived from Sanfrancisco today.

July 1: Light N. West wind these 24 hours with clear fine weather during 24 hours - Sea very smooth - General duties for the day - Keeper went to Newport to take the mail and get some supplies - Had two visitors today.

2: Light N. West wind these 24 hours first part of 24 hours some foggy - Last part of 24 hours clear fine weather - Sea smooth - General duties for the day - 2nd Asst. and Keeper showing seven visitors in tower.

3: Light wind to moderate breeze N. West these 24 hours with clear fine weather during 24 hours - Sea very smooth - General duties for the day - Had three visitors today - 2nd Asst went to Newport - Keeper getting the oil-house ready for the annual supply of oil.

4: Light N. West to South wind little damp first part of 24 hours - Last part of 24 hours light N. West wind fair & warm weather - Sea very smooth - General duties for day - 2nd asst showed 6 visitors in tower - Keeper went to Newport to spend the fourth.

5: Light N. West to South wind first part of 24 hours with little damp weather - Last part of 24 hours light variable winds & calm fair and warm - Sea very smooth - Steamer Willamette Valley sailed for Sanfrancisco today - Had 20 visitors.
