It's been 16 years since I started college! and recently I saw people from that time! At Lakeside homecoming.

And 12 years since I started 6800 BASIC.

HALF THAT 12 years HAS BEEN IN SEATTLE.

Hard to believe that 6800 BASIC, 6502 BASIC, ABQ, Ryan McFarland, ABQ Cobol, Seattle '79, HBS, and all of Orange County was the same length of time since I moved back to Seattle!

TODAY IS MAJOR DAY: PC Excel in NYC. Works shipping.

AND 12 YEARS AGO (JUST ABOUT) TODAY I WENT TO ABQ.

Sat by the side of the lake thinking a while.

Have to admit thinking it made me nervous: too quiet, almost expecting bear to jump out at me (premonition of crash!).

Stop at boat dock near parking lot + wash fish jump + sky get grey, after that having cleared

4:45 Drive back to Rosario.

5:00 Organ recital and slide show + lecture.

It is this sort of thing I prefer doing with others--I like hikes alone though.

Saw the rest of upstairs + spa.

6:00 Back to room for tea + sunset + to write up this afternoon.

7:00 Went to another good place in East Sound to eat.

But its not cheap. $20 for dinner + wine.

Drove a bit toward ferry. One tavern only.

Drove back to Rosario.

8:30 While I was gone I realized that today is also a 2 yr + 4 yr anniversary of Windows with Windows 2.0 out soon w/Excel which has been in development for 2 years, after Mac Excel shippen in Sep '85.

Of course I had no part in any of this work and thankfully so, as I've often felt lately due to difficulty of developing

Windows 1.0 on PC XT + CGA (gag)

Mac Excel on Xenix + download to disbug.

Working on PC Excel or Windows 2.0 would've not been too bad though, but I was making my contribution via Works, making it look + feel like PC Excel on Win 2.0

Wonder if full moon was chosen as day to announce PC Excel?

Reason for all this talk is to commemorate this time, and to begin a period of inhaling (learning) after exhaling (creating) so long.
