Over the last two years, my interest in humanities and the social sciences had increased greatly because of some classes I'd taken and because of my participation in certain extracurricular activities. Consquently I decided to go overseas to Stanford in Britain for two quarters and to take some more advanced courses in these fields. I considered working for a Bachelor of Arts in addition to my Bachelor of Science degree but I preferred taking a greater variety of courses, for greater breadth of knowledge, than a degree program would have allowed.
