when I'm not working. I want to do stuff like going to the beach, Disneyland, discos, good restaurants, elegant parties, etc.

I have travelled a lot this last three months. See letter to P + B. It was lots of fun + I was able to to pick out where I thought it would be fun to live. The North East except for Manhattan + DC are out. It is much too cold + Manhattan doesn't have that much to offer for young people. No beaches + its pretty grey in the fall. DC is ok but I spent quite a bit of time there + it seems pretty dirty - bars are in bad, bad sections of town + people are not that good looking. People in NY are much worse too. So forget the whole NE>

Now Florida has an abundance of beautiful men but very little to do - no social climate, no name for itself, nothing. The South with a cap "S" is too poor, slow, drawly, and bigoted for me. So forget all of that.
