Lunch at Chinese on Hayes. Fine.
Home to Beck's. Fun J/O. Now I can think.

1:15 Go get cash advance. [pink]Walk Castro.
Elephant walk corner still smells of smoke.
Look around, feeling reasons I can't live here.[/pink]
To La Fleur for Latte. Finish Feb Tufts.
At room, put stuff away.

2:30 [pink]Off to Sierra Club. Not a bad part
of Polk Street. Get some cards + shirts.[/pink]
[orange]But none of the books interest me
except a few on the parks + mountains.
But a naturalist + conservationist, I'm not.[/orange]
[pink]To grocery for snack. Ugly, as usual.[/pink]

3:30 [pink]To South Beach. Still industrial + dirty.[/pink]
They never tore down buildings across street
that are such an eyesore for apt I liked.
And still no grocery, video, pharmacy, etc.
Remember dirty water at marina.
No place to [pink]water ski[/pink] around here.
Streets look a little less littered, but...
[pink]Looked at South Park, Brian had mentioned.
Pathetic that he calls it an OASIS in SF, but
for SF, I guess it is. Sad for SF as a whole.
Funny to see nicely dressed people at
S. Pk. Cafe, at sidewalk tables, + vagrants in Park.[/pink]
It just doesn't seem compatible.

4:30 [orange]Drive to Market. Hard to park as usual.
Walk to Fidelity Investments. Closed.
But all I wanted was awareness of difficulty.[/orange]
Stop in for a beer at tavern, to pee.
Walk to Le Meridien: SNGL $162-$202
weekend special $135, for shopping...
Lots of Japanese. Built in 1983.
Up to Third, where Le Meridien is, Market Street
has pretty nice bldg, shops + people.
From 3rd to 4th, it drops a bit. Marriott.

5:15 [pink]Between 4th + 5th : Emporiom + Nordstrom.
Which is top 4 floors of "San Fran Center"
and looks pretty much like any Nordy's.[/pink]
Bottom 3 floors are a mall, curving escalators.
#1 [pink]Realize I can't see Bruce since I only
have my GUESS jeans, which he poked fun at,
I remember, last September!![/pink]
Look around Nordy's motivates me!
[pink]Walk West from 5th a bit and shopping
quality drops way off. Walk back to car.

#2 In any case I begin to feel again how I dislike
SF and wonder how people can live here.
This gives me another reason not to see friends here.

Drive back to Beck's + verify that
Market doesn't pickup again till after Van Ness.[/pink]

6:30 Write up this afternoon. SF is so small,
the parts that I care for.
