ANTI-HBS
Why would I want to work at Xerox? Hardware is out. Software is in.
Nothing substantial risked at leavign now except a loss of time getting to the goal of HBS MBA.
Tom Glass is anti-gay. So look elsewhere.
I am unhappy. Super-insecure.
No friends + not many could be! (Crew-party) Learn to relax.
I don't fit in (I will be unique)
so many econ/business, retailing, banking types
they aren't bored in POM or MKT either, due to lack of direction
but entrepreneurs are bored.
I already can do abstract strategy and come up with a plan of action. I was a programmer. These vague plans of action are not very satisfying.
NO STUDY GROUP - I'm along. No rapport, jokes, self-confidence or stories.
Others have already split from SGS.
I don't want to lose sofware expertise. (Don't worry)
I hate Boston's nightlife, weather (worked out swell). Give it Saturdays at Buddies/Chaps.
Most HBS grads get pretty boring work.
9-5 job
No tennis, no freedome, no excitement in their work for several years!
It's not a thrill (not much high technology)
MKT - I can't do it: too verbal/imaginative. Can't get excited about Levi's, donuts, stereo...
POM - Manuf oper, personnel policy, etc. - I don't want
POM II will be more aggregate
FIN - I want to contribute to producing, not to negotiate. FAAR from R&D. (I can't do R&D)
UB II, CTL II, ME II are good tools for large Co.
[Note referencing the above insets] Plan to work in finance w/ comp for Larga, Hi Tech Co [/note]
FIN/BGIE/BP would blow me away (wait + see). MC is a wage. (I can't say)
Experience here is not profound or involved. You can't get that involved. Not much of a chance to. Little feedback.
To grow I must be able to make mistakes and correct them, but I am still self-conscious here.
