With all this so strong, yet clearly evident that I am glad to have stayed as long as I did, perhaps the question of whether I should have gone someplace more appropriate can be set aside. But answer it anyway. How did I decide to go to HBS? I analyzed the schools and noted that the investment was questionable in my case, but I wanted to go to learn about business and so I did, realizing that I may just go for half a year. I had a strong inspiration on the La Luz trail to at least take the GMAT which I was in top 2% on, and writing the application to Harvard was inspirational. I was accepted in the Spring. Promise to myself to go to HBS when I met Dick. I had to leave MSoft. I went. Should I have gone elsewhere?

Stanford - bad vibes during Extensys visit.
MIT - yuk
Chicago - too theatrical
Wharton - Computer MBA... perhaps appropriate but remember the Business Game and that I just didn't relate DP to the managers.

I must reiterate that I came back in January to learn how to do business information processing, but came to realization that what I really want to do is manage engineering or R&D. I don't want to apply computers to business, at least not be manager of data processing. So Wharton would not have been so good.

AT HBS, I LEARNED ABOUT BUSINESS!
