Chas. Merriam Esq

Dear Sir

Your favor of the received.
There is but one price to our lots, and I should not
be willing to sell less than 400 sq feet in the locality
you speak of.

In regard to a lot in the rear, much would depend
on the shape of your lot; I do not expect any lots will
ever be sold in the rear of Mr Bartlett's, and if your
lot ran back as far as his, you would probably never
have a lot in the rear. If however as you propose to take
400 sq feet, you make a square lot of 20x20 (running back
toward the pond only one half the distance that Mr Bartletts
does, a lot might at some time be sold in the rear.

The cost of grading & sodding & setting posts would be $150.00
5 Brick Catacomb (possibly a little less) 100.00
A' McDonald will furnish 4 posts like Mr Bartlett's for 48.00
The lot shall not be sold until we have $298.00
waited long enough to hear from you
Yours truly

J. W. Lovering
