Clement Jewett Esq.
Dear Sir:
Your favor of the came
duly to hand this morning. Any agreement made
by you and Col. Folsom will of course be kept,
as it would with all persons. At the time of writing
my last letter, I was not aware of any such
understanding in the matter; for we are now not
in the habit of guaranteeing any work of a similar
kind for more than one year, and, as I have
already stated, not being aware of any special
agreement existing in the case I naturally enough
wrote as I did. I will now order the myrtle
repaired in the best possible manner. Trusting
that this will wholly explain away our mutual
misunderstanding in the case I remain
Very Respectfully
James W Lovering Supt
