May 3rd, 1918.

The regular meeting was called to order by
Chairman Mei at 8:20 P.M. The social committee,
Mr. S.K. Wong, reported on the proposed picnic.
Following, Mr. C.K. Chan reported on the athletics
outlooks for the present quarter.

A motion was made and seconded that the
club refund to Messrs. Wong and Mei $2.90 for
carfare to Berkeley in behalf of club affairs.

The remainder of the evening was devoted
to the discussion of the Japanese demands question.
Chairman Mei appointed a committee,
composed of Mr. S.K. Wong (Chairman), Mr. Y.L. Pun,
and Mr. W.J. Chang, under the name of the
"National Welfare Committee", whose duties are to
survey the Japanese question carefully and devise
methods to do our bit toward China. It was
unanimously decided that the club would meet
informally every Friday night at 8-9 P.M. for the
duration of this quarter, to hear whatever report this
committee has to offer and also to discuss national
problems as well as to exchange knowledge. It
was expressed and agreed by the members that the club
should cooperate with the "Saturday club" of Berkeley in
doing some publicity work among the Chinese populace
in America toward the Japanese question. The "National
Welfare Committee has full power to execute its [laws?] and
access of the treasury also.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:40 P.M.
