WINTER QUARTER - 1953
WINTER QUARTER CLUBHOUSE IMPROVEMENTS

A new, used maroon couch-chesterfield
added to living room ata cost of $70. Also, a
back yard flood light installed by handyman
Don Cheu. New light switches replaced old ones.
Also, stairs repainted black and ping-pong table also.

CORONATION BALL QUEEN CANDIDATES PARTY, FEB 28

Very successful affair held at the beautiful
ballroom of the Chinese Clubhouse at Stanford. Put
on by the Stanford Chinese Students' Club, headed
by Proxy Franklin Yee, some 80 persons attended.
T'was to be a small, closed party, but people from
all over, specially U. California attended. Lasted
from 9 to 2, with music by records. Refreshments,
games, people, and social dancing topped the
program. New visitors to Clubhouse very impres-
sed by house and organization. This party was
a "come-on" to induce people to attend the com-
ing Coronation Ball. Several queen candidates
present also.

CORONATION BALL RALLY, MARCH 7, 1953

Held at the YWCA in San Francisco from 9 to
12, with music by records. Some 200 persons
attended this huge rally thrown by the Stanford
C.S.C. as an inducement and publicity stunt for
the approaching Coronation Ball. The program
included skits by Stanford, S.F.C.C., and U. of
California, social dancing, and the presentation
of the queen candidates to the mass throng.
The candidates are as follows:

1) Marily Ching from College of Pacific
2) Roberta Chiu from San Francisco State
3) Jeannette Jang -- Sacramento J.C.
