Matters of Interest - Winter Quarter

1. During the Christmas vocation the West Coast
was hit by a severe storm and the Chinese
Club House suffered the following damage.

a. The skylight over the main stairs was
blown-off and had to be replaced by
Ernie Yhap & Street CHang.

b. Two trees came down, one on the north
side and one on the South side of
the House. The Corporation Yard removed
both of them at a cost of $15.22.

c. The gutter draining the porch roof became
plugged [?] leaves and subsequently about
a foot of water accumulated. and
leaks developed and the food lockers
were drenched with the loss of some food.

Street Chang called in the L. W. West Roofing
Co. for an estimate for repairing the
roof, instead they cleaned out the
rain gutter and charged the house
$1.50.

2. On the 25th of February, the Bendex Washer
finally gave out. No attempt was made
to repair it since it seemed too far
gone.

3. On March 1, Street had 8 truck-loads
of free adobe dumped in the parking
lot in hopes of smoothing out the
deep ruts.

[Soo?] on the 3rd of March the House
rented an Agri-Cat at at cost
of $3/hr to distribute the piles of
dirt. Except for the time when Marty
Lee and company managed to get
the machine stuck in the mud
