The date for the Big House Duty was set on Saturday
23rd July, 1960, for those who could be present at that
time; the work was the painting of the exterior of the
house. Those who could not be present at that time were
to join Mr. T. Tieh at near the beginning of Fall Quarter
to work on another project (to be decided later).
The splitting of the Big House Duty into two parts
was due to that not everyone would be here at the same
time.

Messrs. Co & Mehta applied to the manager for
boarding at the House & This matter was discussed.
The manager recommended that they be admitted,
since Mr. Co did not have cooking facilities at his
lodgings, & Mr. Metha was a vegetarian and had found
it difficult to board elsewhere. They were admitted by
unanimous vote.

Kitchen duties were assigned, again by drawing.

(b) Special House Meeting: (held on Thur. 21st July, 1960)

Notice for this special house meeting was posted on
the bulletin board, on Monday 18th July, and read as
follows:

"Notice is hereby given calling a special house
meeting at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, 21st July, to discuss the
case of Mr. George Guy & also to decide necessary
action. This meeting has been called according to Arti-
cle VII. Section C "TARDY HOUSE DUTIES"."

All the members informed the manager that they could
or they would, attend the meeting, except for Mr. G.
Thomas, who had previous appointment.

The meeting was called to order at 7:45 p.m., due to
that some members were late. However, Messrs. Liu,
Sathya, & Yen did not appear, neither did they send
in any excuse*. Members attending were:

Chow, Ma, Wang, CD., Wang, CP., Yang.
Member voted by proxy was:
Lo (thro. Yang)

{in side margin}*Messrs. Yen & Sathya informed the manager the next day that they forgot all about the meeting
-- in fact, they forgot it was Thursday. Kungta Chow
