Milk Punch

Take a gallon of brandy five quarts
of water, two dozen of lemons, two
pound of fine sugar, three pints of
milk. Pare the lemons very thin & lay
the peels to steep in {the} brandy over night.
Squeeze the lemons on the sugar then
put in the water & brandy. Boil the milk
& put it in boiling hot, let it stand twenty
four hours then strain it thro' a jelly
bag till it looks clear.
