James Powel Cocke and James Cocke Gent. are Elected Church Wardens for
this parish

The Vestry agred that Mr. Zach. Brook do preach a Day in every fifth
week at the falls Chappel and Mr. David Mossom every fifth Sunday at the
Church for which they are to be allowed four hundred pounds of Tob'o p. Sermon

Sackvile Brewer is continued Reader of this Church and Clerk of ye vestry.

John Eals is continued Reader of ye Chappel.

John Hobson is continued Sexton of this Church.

Elenor Williams is continued Sexton at ye Chappel.

At a Vestry held at Curls Church on Sunday morning September ye 28th

James Powel Cocke, James Cocke, Richard Randolph, John Redford, Bowler
Cocke, John Bolling, Edward Curd, John Povall, John Williamson, and Robt
Mosby Gent vestrymen

The Rev'd Mr. Anthony Gavin produces a letter from the Hon'ble William Gooch
Esq'r his Mag's Lieu't Governor of this Colony, and another from the Rev'd
James Blair Commisary, directed to the Church Wardens and Gents. of the
vestry recommending the said Mr. Gavin to the Cure of this parish,
which are Read and the Vestry being desirious of first hearing him
perform the office of his Ministereal function do Suspend their opinion
as to his reception till after Sermon, when they do agree to meet again

Whereas the Revd. Anthony Gavin hath performed his office both in reading
and preaching to the General Satisfaction and approbation of the vestry it
is thereupon unanimously agreed that he be received and entertained as
minister of this parish. and it is thereupon ordered that the Church Ward
do Answer the Governors and Commisarys Letters, and inform them of
the proceedings herein.
