Maj. [Greton?] M. Zucco.
Hq. ASCOMO - Engr. [Seq?]
APO 315 c/o P.M. [Lt.?]
15 July 1945

Gentlemen:-

Kindly change my address to the above. I have recently been transfered to this Hq. as "Construction Engineer." Just at present we are doing a great deal of planning - Then someday we shall have to direct and [support?] what we had planned. Incidentally our training includes the development of greater proficiency with a .45. This assignment in a way completes a cycle - building up Guadalcanal, tearing down and [dismounting?] at New Caledonia, and now planning for future construction. I sincerely hope this will all soon be over - and that this time we shall really establish a long tasking Peace. Pres. Tresidder wrote asking how the University should plan its curriculum for the Future - in my humble opinion it shall place first on its list of required subjects "The [Credentials?] of Lasting Peace" The basis of this would of course have to be real Christianity - it would [involve?] a humanities study of all peoples and all countries - it would demand the elimination of prejudices. But is this not little [compared?] to the terrible suffering caused by war?

P.S. Please [forgive?] my "outburst" - This Philippine heat and dust and [mess?] probably caused it!

Please say "hello" to [all Westons?] Prof Reynolds for [who I give thanks?] My address
Thanks
Sincerely
[Gate?] Zucco
