source through the International Red Cross that he had lost his life and in consequence he was reclassified to missing believed killed. In due course his death was officially presumed to have occurred on the 10th September 1942.

A post war casyalty search revealed that the aircraft crashed at Coltgensplast and that Sergeant Martin was buried in the Crosswyk Cemetery, Rotterdam.
