MOTHER : Mrs. C. Moisley of Grey Lynn, Auckland.

William Raymond Moisley was born at Auckland on the 17th February, 1919. He was educated at Wellesley St. School and Seddon Memorial College and was a keen rugby player. He enlisted in the RNZAF on the 21st March, 1942, commencing training as a Wireless Operator Air Gunner at the Initial Training Wing, Rotorua and later left for Canada.

On the 22nd May 1942 he arrived at No. 2 Wireless School, RCAF, Calgary, Alberta to continue his training. He qualified as a Wireless Operator at Calgary on December 1st, 1942 and then proceeded to No. 5 Bombing & Gunnery School, Dafoe, Saskatchewan. On January 10th, 1943 LAC Moisley was a member of the crew of a Boilingbroke aircraft engaged in gunnery exercises near Quill Lake, Saskatchewan when the aircraft crashed, all the members of the crew being killed. There were two other members in the crew, Sgt. T.J. Sugrue (1st Pilot), and Sgt. R.C. Chappell (2nd Pilot), LAC Moisley's grave is located at St. Augustines Cemetery, Humboldt, Saskatchewan.
