These additional flights included patrols over the following areas, Cassino (4), Anzio (28), Battle area (9), Cassino - Garigliano, Auezzano - Reiti - Rome, Rome - Albano - Avezzano, Tivoli - Avezzano, Reiti, Antredoco, Terni - Spolletti; Genoa - Imperia - Cunea, Leghorn - Spezia, Spezia, Spezia - Genoa, Leghorn Harbour, Gorgona - Spezia (2), escorts to bombers attacking the following targets and areas, North East Rome (2), the Tiber River (3), Viterbo, Tivoli, Orvieto, Frosinone - Ceprano, Albano (2), Albano - Avezzano, Bolsena - Viterbo - Ovieto, Rimini, Faezna (2), enemy shipping, railways, ammunition dumps, Rouigo (2), fighter sweeps over areas including Viterbo - Canino - Orvieto, Canino - Viterbo, Albano - Rome - Bracciano, Bracciano, Viterbo - Terni, Perugia - Foligno, Lake Trasimena, Fano, Bologna - Forli, Badiatedalos, a straffing sweep over the Reiti - Avezzano area, 3 anti-reconnaissance patrols, cover to a dingy on the Tiber River, a dingy search, a leaflet dropping mission, 2 armed reconnaissances, 2 weather reconnaissance flights over Bologna and Rimini; dive bombing the roads of Glovanni, San Giovanni (2), west of Lesi, Borgo Pace, San Angelo, Badia Tedalda (2), Pisa Spezia and Fivizzano, bombing and straffing the following railways, North West of Imola, Prato, the railway bridge of Forlimpopoli, Molinella (3), Budrio, Ferara (2), Portomaggiori (2), the railway crossing of North Bologna and south of Pietro, the road and bridge of North of Prato and railway trucks at Modena, all these targets being in Italy. During this tour of operations he claimed 4 ME 109's destroyed, 1 ME 109 damaged and 1 truck straffed and destroyed and of these 1 ME 109 destroyed and 1 truck destroyed were confirmed. Also whilst on this tour in June, 1944 he was Mentioned in Despatches for Meritorious Services and on the 3rd July, he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Citation covering the award reading as hereunder:-
