Sergeant Moore was a member of the crew of a Wellington bomber which took off on air operations on the 1st August 1942 to (rest of sentence redacted).

The aircraft failed to return to its base and all the crew including Sergeant Moore was classified as missing. Later, information was received from a German source through the International Red Cross that Sergeant Moore had lost his life and was, in consequence, reclassified as missing believed killed in action. Subsequent information disclosed that he had been buried in the cemetery at St. Troud, Belgium. Due time having elapsed his death was officially presumed to have occurred on the 1st August 1942 as the result of air operations. After the cessation of hositilities he was reburied in the British Military Cemetery, Louvain, Heverle, Belgium.
