From this base as Wireless Operator of Lancaster bomber aircraft he took part in six operational flights to targets at Stuttgart, Frankfurt (2), Berlin, Essen and Nurenburg all in Germany.

From a raid against this latter target undertaken on the night of the 30/31st March 1944 the aircraft failed to return to its base and all the crew including Warrant Officer Moosman were classified as missing. Later, information was received from a German official source through the Internationl Red Cross, that he had lost his life and was buried in the Fuerth Cemetery, Nurenberg, Germany. In consequence he was reclassified to missing believed killed in action. In due course his death was offically presumed to have occurred on the 31st March 1944.

A post war casualty search revealed that the aircraft crashed near Eremueth, on the 31st March 1944, all the crew including Warrant Officer Moosman losing their lives.
