Flight Sergeant Morgan was the pilot of a Stirling bomber which took off on air operations on the night of the 24th August 1942 to (location redacted).

The aircraft failed to return to its base and all members of the crew including Flight Sergeant Morgan were classified as missing. Later, information was received from a German source through the International Red Cross that he had lost his life and he was, in consequence reclassified as missing believed killed in action. (redacted Later still) Subsequently information was received that he had been buried in the cemetery at Thynes, Dinant, Belgium, and after allowing due time to elapse, his death was officially presumed to have occurred on the 24th August 1942 at the result of air operations. Subsequent to the cessation of hostilities he was reburied in a comrades grave together with other members of his crew in the Gosselies Communal Cemetery, Belgium.
