The aircraft crashed near Halesworth, Suffolk, all its crew including Sergeant Munro being killed. He was buried on the 15th September in the Ipswich Borough Cemetery, Ipswich.

The crew of the aircraft contained one other New Zealander Sergeant J. M. Stanley of Christchurch.
