1658 Flying Officer Henry St. Aubyn MURRAY.
Widow: Mrs. I.N. Murray of Christchurch.

Henry Murray was born at Christchurch on the 14th January 1889. He received his secondary education at Christ's College, passing his University Entrance examination and afterwards attended London University, where he obtained his Architect's Degree. He served in the Australian Military Forces from 1915 to 1919, and was the Officer Commanding the 3rd, Field Company Engineers. When applying for a commission in the Royal New Zealand Air Force on the 31st March 1942 he had been engaged as an Architect on his own account for 22 years in Christchurch.

Flying Officer Murray was enlisted at Suva on the 1st July, 1942, and served there with the Composite Works Squadron, until returning to New Zealand on the 21st. March 1943. He was posted to Onerahi, Whangerei, after a period of disembarkation leave.

Flying Officer Murray was injured in a motor accident at Whangarei, on the 10th April 1943, and died in the Hospital there two days later. He was buried in the Christchurch Cemetery.
