Wound up September with a bang -
flew two DAS Hops along the Sang
Ben Hoi. First with Mljor Erickson
orbited around for a while - finally let
some NVA in a creek bed - difficult
bombing through towering [?] - [?] run
solo due to fuel - I was one but Major was
short on fuel - long on [?] - one conected
shallow dive 0 1 Bunker & 75 meters of Foliage
First time I've ever been credited with
foliage ! -

Second with Ken Mersh - again orbited
till mission Bongo then talked then into
letting us hit artillery positions on the Mai
Lai Pensula - after another delay
getting artillery & [?] gunfire lifted we
went in - 8000 ft release 45 degrees -
results unk -

Last night for some reason I didn't drink
Booze while relaping at the club - Sure enough
0100 rolls around & they want SHRIKE pilot
Another 2 hours of discussing - all of which
indicated that the group's SHRIKE program
is ridiculous - finally launched 3 sortes -
no results- althougy Majmor Eichlun got
a sam lite while (For a Din "D" - great
fun -

Up at 0530 for ODO - no breakfast but
had some C-Rats at 0930 - lovely day
but watchec big front move south for
DIR - most of our flights concelled or
TPQ directs

Another accident tante - Ken mersch
missed the [?] & went off the side
damage unk but expected to be bad -
Crosswind & possibly wet runway - why
he didn't go around nobody knows
I fell asleep in the Ready Room after Briefing
for a TH - it was cancelled but noboey woke me
