The leader of the Stanford orchestra asked me to come up tomorrow and try for a part. I think it will be a fine thing. Next Thanksgiving when the Stanford-Berkeley football game is held in San Francisco the orchestra gives a concert in the evening. I tell you its a fine orchestra. And then you know it will kind of make me keep the violin up.

I rented a bicycle, and a friend, who used to go to Troop, and I took a ride to San Jose; about 20 miles. We started at 2.15 P.M. and go back 6.30. The fellow charged us only 50c a piece. Just think of it there is 4 and a half hours.
