Our President was much pleased by
the good display of vegetables fruits and
flowers at this meeting and also as the
County Fair last week. After the very prolonged
spell of dry weather, he had not expected
such an excellent exhibition.

The minutes were read and some corrections
made.

1st reader, Isabel Miller read an interesting article
on growing tomatoes; staking, prunning
and making rich, successful in making
the tomatoes abundant very perfect. 2 plants
to a stake, prune when 1 foot high. The
grower in this article used dry Paris Green
for insects and mulches the plants.

How many of our members stake and prune
their tomatoes? Ellen Fargnhar does the earliest
of hers. She cut out the shoots that come at
the axil of the leaf. A visitor to Harbridge
told of the immense clusters of fine tomatoes
on plants tied to stakes --- the finest he ever saw.
2nd reader Gladys Brooke was absent.
Volunteer Emma Stabler, read of some of Burbank
work and an article on the Wonderberry.
E.S. Iddings an article on Burbank in which
he claims to have dfome many wonderful things
but has not done all with which he has been charged.
Robert Miller read a humorous article "Burbankitis"
Frances Stabler had an article on the Eucalyptus.
