and Riverside were excellent. Peas are in
bloom at some places and all plants remarkably
well advanced for the first week of May.

Flowers abundant. Roses from two places.
Cornelia Bentley reported satisfactory progress
on Sandy Spring Park (or Horticultural park?)
The committee is continued.
Dr. Kirk has been fighting the rust on blackberries.
He says the hoe is the only remedy.
Robert Miller was appointed to send specimens
to the Department of Agriculture (or M.A.C)

{1}Where can roots of English Ivy be obtained?
Hannah Stabler and John Bentley offer them.
{2}Wanted to know the cause of currant bushes
dying? A worm in the stem or the currant
worm, if the latter spray with Paris Green,
a teaspoonful to 4 gals. of water.
{3}Is it too late to cut sage now? Not too late.
{4}If a furrough was plowed, manure put in
and earth thrown back would it be too
rich for Lima beans? They do not require
to be made rich.
{5}How get rid of burdock? Cut off below
the surface of the ground, persistently.
{6}How treat four apricot trees? Some say they
may bear if protected, but they are uncertain
wherever planted.

The storm prevented our walk in the garden.
