Forethought

After expressing our sense of
the loss we have endured, both socially
and horticulturally, by the death of John C.
Bentley, forethought gave us the following
instructions. The season is late. All the early
things can be planted now, peas, beets, spin-
-ach, onions, radishes, lettuce, potatoes plant
ed or put to sprout. Sow late cabbage seed.
In a few days, corn, snap beans, salsi-
-fy, parsnips and carrots should be planted.
Prime rosebushes and ornamental shrub
-bery and raspberry, blackberry, gooseberry
currant and fruit trees. Work flow
-er beds, and the whole premises should
be cleaned up. If a strawberry bed is
to be planted prepare for it now.
