recommended to chip the vines or twist
them around on the hill. In sitting
out Asters, put them a foot apart. For
the beetles no remedy known but picking
off by hand. It is said that [Rope?]
sowed now makes good green food for Hogs
Wild Cherry leaves are said to poison
sheep and horses and is probably injuri-
-ous to other stock.

Owing to illness in the family and many
duties, our hostess is not proud of her
garden but we know an abundance of
fine vegetables will come out of it and
be shared with her neighbors
