Nine of our members were absent, & we had as
guests Thos F Shephard, MB Kirk, & RR Moore.

After a very chatty time the following questions
were asked viz.

1st QuestIs the snow on the ground sufficient
to protect the roses? No very decided answer, but
some members thought it was so long as it staid.

2nd Quest. How to make Hominy cakes? Qt flour,
Qt milk, Qt Hominy, salt to taste, & 2 spoons floor
Lard; Bake like pone.

3rd Quest. How to cure beef tongue? Put in ham
too pickle for two weeks & then smoke or not to taste.

4th Quest. Was the standing question as to how to
make soft soap & there was the usual number of answers
for which see recipe book.

5th Quest. A member wants information, about water cress.
How it grows & what it is like? Grows on the margins of
running streams, tastes a good deal like pepper grass &
is a nice salad.

After the questions supper was announced, at which
impact, the question of Turkey was discussed & settled
it might be said to the Full satisfaction of most of our members.
