machine.

Sarah Miller has, and likes it, but
no machine will prove what we want unless
worked intelligently, and our washerwomen as
a class prefer all old fashioned ways, and
scorn all innovations as trespassing on
their privileges.

Sarah Miller gave us a most enthusiastic
account of how after many years of
housekeeping she had at last learned how
to make bread, which must be a cause of
Congratulation to her family, as good bread
is the staff of life. Her receipt should go
in our book, where all breadmakers may read
with profit, but they must not forget to
rise at 3 A.M. to insure success.
