August 11, 1922 - Friday

Am very tired - have been up every night this wk. till
11 p.m. or later; while this eve my left shoulder
gave out completely with the reaching, lifting, etc.
& I have a stabbing pain near my heart. Have so
much to do, & many letters I should write, but will
have to take things easy tomorrow & rest up a bit.
Have History & Biography, Geography, Science In-
vention [Invention] pretty well together, but all those travel folders
are yet to go thru - also arranging on shelves,
which entails shifting about to a considerable
extent again. Asked Mrs. E., when she wanted to
know if there was anything she could do for me
at town, to get me a tube of Le Page's glue at the
press, some large envelopes for filing the pictures
I've been so industriously cutting out, & some
note books for library use; she couldn't get the 1st
but procured another kind "just as good" instead,
the 2nd were not to be had at all; the 3rd were un-
suitable [unsuitable], & when unrolled to be examined, there was
no glue! It had been left at the Press, as a bearer came
soon after break. to deliver it, tho' we walked to the
gate to see if had been dropped on the way in after
dismissing the gharry.

August 12, 1922 - Saturday

Didn't go near the library all morn, but slept late
& tried to catch up on some I'd been missing. Dusted
dresser, and did various other jobs about my room.
Dhoby came - with usual results. Went to lib. in the
aft. & sorted the "travel" literature, also several "job
lots". Mrs. H. came & took her G.G. captains in there,
they were having "cotton." This morn. Ma Nyint
got me R 50 by check & bought 4 small stewpans
with tops for kitchen use, a big perforated spoon, a
bucket for hot water, 2 tubes of toothpaste, box of
bromo, bottle "3 in 1" oil, & scrubbing brush; the whole
coming to about R 20, besides R 5 worth of stamps.
S. discovered his utensils while Miss P. & I were having
tea, & I think was quite pleased from the way he
grinned; he's been wanting them for a mo. & thinks
he'll save charcoal - we shall see! Spent nearly all
day on the books for the various classes - cut the
9th & 10th (same) wrong, so couldn't index them
properly; & rewrote all names in alphabetical order;
the 8th, being a large class, takes up most of one,
but there's room for the teachers in the back; these
two long books were in use by Miss P; I furnished
two smaller black ones myself -1 for the 7th, a
large class; & the other for the 6th & 5th together.
