A beautiful day.
Ben and Paul suckered tobacco. Josie got dinner and canned some tomatoes. This evening she scrubbed the cook room floor.
I went to see Mollie Reynolds. She is not well but a bout.
I did not see Miss Kate or Mrs Jane they were taking their evening nap. Doris Brumfield and Christine Reynolds and Delma Owen come to Marvins a while this evening.

Friday, September 13, 1918
A good day. Ben and Owen moved some tobacco and cut some. I helped to unload the waggon. Ben had Mags Grey and Jake. Paul had Prince and Pomp. Carried some primings to Gretna. He went to Chatham on Henry Blairs car. Josie ironed this morning and was sick all the evening. Mr Owen went to the mill to day but did not get his grinding. Will have to go a gain.

Monday, September 30, 1918
A good day. We all hands stripped tobaccco.
Josie come home at twelve and fixed a snack to eat. Kate Harvey come but I did not see her.
Hazel Smith has bin sick today. I hope she will soon be well.
I got a letter from Miss Bobsman wanting to board with me while she teaches school. Guess she will as no one else will take her.

Tuesday, October 1, 1918
A good day. We all stripped tobacco half of the day. Josie put new straw in some of the bed ticks and picked some pears. I went to George Blairs found all of the girls sick not in bed but should have bin. Mrs Anderson and Lizzie was there.
Mrs Anderson commenced a sweater for her boy Asa.
Ben and Owen helped Marvin strip tobacco this evening.

Wednesday, October 2, 1918
A good day. Ben carried Henry and I to Worshams pond to fish. We did not catch anything but minnows.
We walked from the pond to the union mens lodge there. Ben met us. We come by Strait Stone. Josie and the children was with Ben. Nearly all the Blairs are sick and Hazel Smith is yet sick.
I left this book at Letcher Craddocks got it home this evening.
