Sir: Your telegram of the 15th instant has been received, and the following answer has been this day sent you by telegraph:

"Foulweather telegram received. Enquiries will be made at once. It appears from your telegram that the whole number of cases and pieces for Foulweather lantern, shipped by General Woodruff has been received by you."

Sir: The following telegram was yesterday sent you:

"With Woodruff's letter to Williamson, of April first last, was sent a list of contents of sixteen boxes and sixteen pieces. All the parts you report as missing were included. Telegraph to Michler for the list. You must have made some mistake. If this will delay lighting beyond first of March, inform the Board."

Sir:

Referring to your letter of the 17th instant relating to the lantern for Cape Foulweather. I have to say that the Board has been informed that the lantern has been found at San Francisco and that the parts already mentioned are missing. I have to suggest that you ask the Engineer of the 12th district for receipt.

In regard to the floor lights, they do not appear in the list of contents of the boxes, but they are not essential to the lighting of the lens, and it can be done without them, temporarily covering the holes.

Enquiries will be made at once in regard to them, and if not found, they will be supplied. You are requested to inform the Board at once in regard to them.
