There have been sent you by this days' mail two copies of the contract for the iron work for Cape Foulweather light house. One of the copies should be at once sent tot he contractors for their guidance and one retained in your office.

Sir:
Upon further consideration of your recommendation of the 30th September last, that the contractor for construction of the Keeper's dwelling at the Cape Foulweather Light Station be allowed an extension of sixty days time from the first day of July next, the Board has decided to allow the contractor the extension asked - that is, until the 28th day of August next.

I have to inform you that the lantern for Cape Foulweather is completed and after inspection will be shipped to your care at San Francisco, where it will remain until arrangements can be made between you and Major Robert to have it shipped direct from San Francisco to Yaquina Bay.

I have to inform you that the lantern for Cape Foulweather will be shipped to you, care of Col. Williamson at San Francisco, by the next steamer from New York.
The lantern had better remain at San Francisco till arrangements can be made between you and Col. Williamson to have it shipped direct from San Francisco to Yaquina Bay.
