Supported decayed joists on south side of 1” of 2” floors of Keeper’s dwelling with girders and posts. Replaced outside cellar doors. Commenced running Fog Signal during foggy weather- Inspected Station and made estimates for thorough renovation repairs. Ediz Hook Lt Station, W.T. Inspected Station & made rough plans & estimate for Repairs. New Dungenness Lt Station, W.T. Inspected Station, and made plans & estimates for work of c-reading Steam Fog Signal Smith Island Lt Station, W.T. Indspected & made estimates for repairs Admirarlty Head LH Station, W.T. Office of the Light House Engineer Thirteenth District Portland, Oregon, May 7th, 1874

SIR: The following report of Engineer operations in the Thirteenth Lighthouse District during the month of April is respectfully submitted for the information of the Board. Cape Foulweather. Two lightning rods were put up on the Keeper’s dwelling at this station, in accordance with instructions given by the late Engineer of the District Yaquina Light Station. A lighting rod was also put up at the Keeper’s dwelling at this station by directions of my predecessor Major H M Robert. Columbia River Light Station. In compliance with the directions of the Board Proposals were invited by public advertisement in certain newspapers, dated April 8th, for building lighthouse for mouth of the Columbia River, Oregon. The bids will be opened May 11th instant; an abstract of said bids will awarded with such recommendations

Office of the Light House Engineer Thirteenth District Portland, Oregon, July 20th, 1874 SIR: The following report of Engineer Operations the 13th Light House District during the month of June, is respectfully submitted for the information of the Board. Cape Gregory Light Station. The Keeper’s dwelling, tower, outbuildings, and fences require whitewashing which will be attended to where funds are on hand. Cape Foulweather. This station is in excellent is condition, with the exception of the Tower and Keeper’s dwelling which need painting; the outbuildings and fences also need whitewashing. Materials for the work required will be sent as soon as this office is placed in suspension of the necessary funds. Yaquina Bay. At this station the Keepers dwelling, outbuildings and fences, require whitewashing; about five hundred feet of fence to enclose the premises should be built. These will be attended to when funds are received. Columbia River Lt Station. Up to July 1st no ????? was received respecting the approval of the Board of the contract made with M Ray

Considerable repairs are need at this station, including iron tops to chimneys; repairs of fire places; plank wall from dwelling to road leading to boat landing; painting tower and Keeper’s dwelling, and whitewashing outbuilding, and fences. This work will be attended to at the earliest practicable day. Foulweather Bluff-Point No Point. No survey, or work of any description, was don’t at either of these points during the month, in accordance with the instructions of the Board. Columbia RiverOregon. An appropriation approved June 23rd, 1874, was made for the erection of day beacons on this river. Cape Flattery. An appropriation of $1500 is available for building a custom and for repairs at this station. Lanitis??? (Blunts) Island. An appropriation of $1500 is available for building as cistern and for repairs at this station. Estimates have been submitted.

therefore be necessary to land the supplies at Yaquina Bay to guard against any unnecessary risks, I have examined the channel and directed the Light-Keeper at that station to place range poles on certain points on shore to mark the channel in crossing the bar, hereafter I think the Tender will be able to enter that place without any difficulty where she can land supplies and replace the necessary buoys.
