Sir:

Referring to the joint report of the Engineer of the Thirteenth Light-House District and yourself, dated 14 May, '95, relative to the establishment of a post light at Coquille Point, Yaquina Bay, Oregon, for the purpose of defining the channel between McLean's Point and the end of the Bulkhead at Yaquina, the Board has to say that you recommendations are approved.

The Board therefore directs you to erect the post light in question with the assistance of the tender.

Sir:

Referring to your letter of 21 June '95, transmitting data for Notice to Mariners, of the change in height of Yaquina Bar Range Rear Beacon Light, and proposed establishment of Coquille Point Beacon Light, the Board has to say that the bearings given to locate the last mentioned light do not agree with the position of the light as shown on the chart. The chart is returned herewith in a separate package with the request that you make the necessary correction and return the chart.

The Board directs your attention to the concluding paragraph of its letter of 28 Feb. '95, relative to the Yaquina Bay Beacon Lights, and requests that hereafter data for Notices to Mariners be forwarded not less that four weeks before the establishment of new lights and that when practicable more time be given.

Sir:

Inclosed is transmitted a copy of Notice to Mariners No. 105 of 1895, giving notice that the rear beacon light of the Yaquina bar Range has been increased 10 feet in height, and also that a fixed white beacon light was established July 1 near the outer end of the cribwork bulkhead at Coquille Point, entrance to Yaquina River, Oreg.

Sir: Referring to your letter of 18 Oct., '94, the Board has to say that your recommendations are approved, and that you are authorized to repair the Keeper's dwelling and to improve the grounds the Cape Foulweather light station, Oreg., the work to be done by hired labor and the purchase of the necessary materials, in accordance with Article 2, of the Board's circular letter of 22 June, 1894.

The total cost of the work is not to exceed $595., to be paid for from the appropriation Repairs of Light-Houses, 1895.
