The undersigned petitioners, all residents of the City of Seattle, respectfully petition your Hon body to complete the construction by planking, or in such other manner as your Hon body may deem advisible, the following described street or road: Commencing at a point on the north boundry line of sec. 30 T 25 N R 4 E: being the north boundry line of the City of Seattle prior to the last extension thereof, where the centre line of Rollin Street intersects said north boundry line, thence northward along the shore of Lake Union to the north boundry line of section 19 T/25 N R 4 E: And your petitioners will every pray. 753 COMMONCOUNCILOF THECITYOF SEATTLE Mar 5 1886 Be it remembered that on this the fifth day of March A D 1886, the Common Council of theCity of Seattle meets in its Council Chamber pursuant to law; the following officers being present to wit: His Honor the Mayor Henry L Yesler and Councilmen R H Calligan, J W Hall, J Furth W A Harrington, T W Lake, Chas McDonald, J J Post and G W Young. When the following proceedings were had to wit: Petitions and Remonstrances Petitionof Geo W Crane prayingfor the refunding of the purchase money at tax sale of certain property doubly assessed in 1882 as follows North 1/2 of Lot 6 in Block 4 McNaughts Addition 1.87 North 1/2 of Lot 5 in Block 6 Judkins Addition 4.50 North 1/2 of Lot 6 in Block 6 Judkins Addition 4.00 North 1/2 of Lot 6 in Block 7 Judkins Addition 3.00 being a total of 13.37 together withinterest at 10% per annum form April 2d 1883 read and referred to Judiciary committee Petition of J G Nolop et al praying that bridge on Lake at near Lake Union be repaired. Read and referred to Street Committee Petitionof R L Graves et al for a fireplug at corner of Eighth and Pike Streets, read and referred to Ifre & Water Committee Remonstrance of Fred Crede against the openinig of Howard and Elaine Streets, read and referred to Fianance Committee Communication from James McNaught referred to the claim of the Turnverein read and referred to Finance Committe

769 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE policeman was filed Mch 16 and that on Mch 17 a notice of garnishment was served on him in suit of S Kenny vs J Normile, on motion the matter is referred to the City Attorney with power to act. Committee Reports received. From Fire and Water Committee on the matter of a cistern at Lake Union recommending that a cistern be built not to exceed 10 ft x 10 ft in size on motion the reprot is received and placed on file and the Clerk is authorized and directed to advertise for bids for the construction of said cistern. From Finance Committee on petition of T W Sauder for payment out of road fund of outstanding warrants. on 5th street fund and issue warrants on the road fund in lieu thereof on motin that report and recommendation is adopted and Clerk authorized to proceed in accordance therewith. From Sewer Committee recommending that the owners of Blocks 9 and 10 of Maynards plat be required to cause said block to be drained adopted. From sewer Committee on petition of G H Armstrong for permission to conduct a laundry recommending that the petition be granted and the petitioner be allowed a reasonable time in which to comply with the provisions of ordianace No 710 on motion the report is adopted and the petitioner given fifteen days to comply with said ordinance.

56 JOURNAL OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE Jul 30 186 is ordered to put in a wooden sewer in accordance with the prayer of the petitioner. Petition of G Kellogg et al for fire ladders to be placed at Lake Union Referred on Fire & Water Communicaton from A W Burrell contractor for Beach Road Bridge received read & Ordered filed and on motion of Councilman Furth the clerk is ordered to return the said Burrell the certified check deposited by him with his bid upon the filing of the approved bond & Contract Communication of L Kusters asking that the item of $2500 personal property be stricken from the assessment of Anna E Shannon she being a non-redisent of Seattle since 1885 & Living in Canada read & on motion the request is granted and the clerk is directed to make the correction. Committee Reports Received From Fire & Water Committee recommending that the sum of $50. be allowed Chief Engineer Campbell as partial compensation for valuable services rendered Adopted and Clerk ordered to draw a warrant in favor of said Campbell for the sum of $50.00 Quarterly report of Health Officer for the Quarter ending July 30 1886. received read and approved & ordered filed.
