To the Honorable Board of Aldermen Gentlemen, Your petitioner would most respecfully petition your honorable Body to grant him the privilage of lowering the floor in the Building located on Lot 4 Block 3, Denny's First Addtition, located on East side Second Street and one Store south of Cherry Street. The floor is about 18 inches above the level of sidewalk, and in its present condition your petitioner finds it very inconvenient and detrimental to his business. Hoping your honorable body will kindly grant the request for which your petitioner will ever pray.

Washington and Main St to be planked as follows the South side of Washington from the west side of Commercial St the planking east of the alley Sixteen feet in width the north side of Main From the west side of Commercial St the planking east of alley sixteen feet wide and that the work be done immediatly before the winter rains set in. Seattle June 22 189 To the Mayor and Common Council of the City of Seattle The undersigned respectufully petitions your honorable body for leave to build, operate and maintain a standard and narrow guage railroad either single or double track on the north line of King Street between Commercial and Second Streets and the contract and maintain for the operation of said road a trestle over second and commercial streets subject to such restrictions as your honorable body may impose. It is therefore ordered that the contract be awarded to him upon his giving a bond with good and sufficient sureties in the sum of $300.00 Petitions Received From Amos Brown et al for grading Spring Street from the west side of Second Street to Front Street. Referred to the Committee on Streets and Street Improvements. From Thos H. Bates for the right to erect a building on Front Street near Marion. Miscellaneous From His Honor the Acting Mayor declining to sign Warrant to be drawn favor of E.W. Rea until all liens on Engine House are satisfied. Adopted. The petition of Thos H. Bates is rejected. Ordered that a Committee of 3 be and they are hereby appointed to receive plans and specifications for a Brick or Wooden Engine House on Columbia Street Property. Thereupon McDonald, Clancy & Gasch are appointed such a Committee.

John Collins acting Mayor Mar 21/83 Be it remembered that on this the 21st day of March 1883 the Common Council of the City of Seattle meets in its Council Chamber pursuant to the call of His Honor the Acting Mayor Councilman John Collins for the transaction of general business. The following Officers are present to wit: His Honor the Acting Mayor Councilman John Collins and Councilmen Charles F Clancy, Fred Gasch, Charles McDonald, G L Manning and U M Rasin. Thereupon the following proceedings are had: Petitions Received From L Runig for the right to lay a water pipe from Fifth Streeet Corner of Madison along fifth Street to Marion Street thence West along Marion Street to the Southeast corner of Front and Marion Streets Granted. From Sarah D Libby for the raising of sidewalk corner Union and Second Streets. Laid on the table From D Horton for the lowering of sidewalk in Seneca Street. Granted upon the condition that petitioner lower the same at his own expense to the top of his Stone Wall. Committees Reports Received From Streets and Street Improvements recommending certain grading on Mill Street Recommitted From Streets and Street Improvements rejecting the petition of Mary M Miller in relation to Washinton Street sidewalk
