From D B Jackson for permission to build a side walk fronting his property on University Street Granted From Edwin Ells for paying surveyor bill on a/c of sidewalk.

Read and motion laid on the table. Plat of Fairview Homestead Association presented for approval by F E Sander Referred to City Surveyor. Reports Received From Judiciary Committee recommending the adoption of the Ordinance heretofore submitted entitled "An Ordinance granting the right to erect poles and stretch wires thereon for Electric purposes" provided that the parties presenting the same pay for publication of Ordinance. Adopted From same Committee approving reports of City Justice Hill Justice of the Peace Geo G Lyon and the City Jailor for month of October. Adopted and said reports ordered rec'd and filed. To the Hon. Mayor and Comon Council of the City of Seattle

Gentlemen Your Committee on Fire and Water beg to make the following recommendations for the better protection of the city from fire.

1st That a district be laid off, bounded by King St on the north, So. Seventh St on the east, Lane St on the South, and Railroad Ave. on the West. That within these limits the erection by prohibited of any building which shall exceed the height of 24 ft from the sidewalk to the eaves or more than two stories, and that no cloth and paper finish be allowed on any inside wall in any building within the same.

2nd That the fire limit ordinance be so amended that the district lying between Bell + between 3rd St and the alley West of Fourth St and Pine Streets shall be included within the same.
