A cloudy day and raining tonight. The men folks cant do any thing much.

Josie sowed some this morning. This evening she went to see Mrs. Edmons & Miss Alice Wooding. Did not see Miss Alice as they dont let any one go in to see her. I hope that they both may soon be better.

I got a letter from Julia Fergerson this evening. Was glad to hear from her. I wrote John Brumfield a letter today.

Paul Bennett is very much complaining to day. Jim Brumfield carried some rye to Charley Hutcherson for him to grind. Walked and carried it rather than hitch a horse to a buggy.
