A good day. Ben loaded the waggon this morning ready for market in the morning. The men will stay at the barns to night

Josie helped to load the waggon. I got most of the dinner. We looked for [ink stain] Mollie and Julia all the evening. They did not come. Julia come a bout sundown. She got a few snaps and some butter. Paul carried her home. To night Lizzie + Alma and Earl come to Johnsons. Paul carried Mary and I up there. We staid until ten oclock have just got home.

A good day. Ben carried Mary and William Brumfield to Long Island to day on their way home. I do hope they are at Richmond to night. Mr Will Motley was buried this evening. He was an odd Fellow.

Marvin carried Carrie and I to Altavista to a show. Josie and Kate Harvey kept the children.

Tonight Ben and Josie and Paul have gone to see the show. I am here with the children. Hope they will be pleased with it.

Cloudy today and some rain. Ben got up part of his pea hay and part got wet. We got dinner when we got breakfast thought we would strip tobacco. It was so dry that we could not handle it. Josie sewed some.

I dug some potatoes.

Reese and Henry helped me and we built a pig pen and got up the pigs and they got out.

Ben and Owen went a squirrel hunting. Killed four. Ben kept 2 and then would not skin them. So I did it.

Heard to day that Alma and Lonnie are sick. Had a letter from Mary Brumfield. They were well when she wrote. Hope that they may stay so.

A good day. The roads is very muddy. Ben hunted some today. He killed four rabbits gave two of them to William Gilbert.

Josie and I staid at home.

Kate and Irvin Harvey come and eat dinner with us. They drove Prince home and Irvin brought him home. I had a letter from John and Effie Brumfield.

Mary Brumfield sent me a book to write in the coming year. Hope I may be able to write in it. Dick Woodings folks gave a party to night.

The children had a good time to day playing with the things they got this morning.

I got several presents was glad of them.

Josie gathered a bunch of violets in the garden to day

A good day. Ben went to Altavista after lumber and got it. Jim cut some wood in the woods.

Josie got dinner and made Franklin a dress & then went to Marvins.

I washed some.

I got a box of yarn from Richmond to day from Mary Brumfield to knit for her.

All are well and I want to be thankful.
