373 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE Jan 11 1883 Be it remembered that on this 11th day of January 1888 the Common Council of the City of Seattle meets in its Council Chamber pursuant to adjournment. The following officers are present, to wit: Mayor Thomas T. Minor & Councilmen J. Furth, J. M. Frink, T. W. Lake, R. Moran, U R Niesz, & C F Reitze & W R Forrest Clerk whereupon the following proceedings are had, to wit: Petitions etc Petition of N J Hanson & others for street lights at corner of 9th Howell Sts, 9th & Stewart Sts, 10th & Stewart Sts, 10th & Virginia Sts & 11th & Virginia Sts, read & referred to Committee on Street Lights. Petition of John Cort for permission to transfer his liquor and theatre licenses to the New Standard Theatre Corner of Washington & South Second Streets. Granted. Petition of F Hochbrunn for permission to remove stumps by blasting from Block "Q" Bells 6th addition read & granted for a period of ten (10) days the petitioner to be personally responsible for any damages caused by reason of said blasting. Petition of John Cort for permission to put up a Canvas sign across Washington street read & granted. Communication from D L McCowan asking that the street Commissioner be directed to remove a fence from across the alley in Block 26 of Bell & Denny's Addn read & City Atty. decided to prosecute the protector of said fence for maintaining a nuisance. Petition of Robt Abrams & others for planking Washington street from Commercial Street to Seventh Street read & referred to Committee on Streets.

443 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE. Apr 11 1888 and establish the grade of said Depot Street between Fir Street and Broadway. Ordinances An ordinance is submitted by the City Attorney entitled An Ordinance Establishing the grade of Birch Street in the City of Seattle between Depot Street and Harrison Street" which is passed by the following vote: In favor of the same, Furth, Frink Green, Lake, Moran and Russell against the same. Petition of Mary H Abrams and others for abatement of nuisance in alley in Block 3 Bell and Dennys Addition to the City of Seattle, read and referred to City Attorney and Committee on Health and Police.

481 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE Jun 1 1888 Be it remembered that on this 1st day of June a.d. 1888, the Common Council of the City of Seattle meets in its Council Chamer pursuant to the law The following officers are present, viz, His Honor the Mayor Thomas T. Minor, Councilmen Furth, Frink Green, Lake, Russell and Reitze, and W R Forrest, Clerk. Absent Councilman R. Moran. The following proceedings are had, to wit Petitions, Communications, Petition of E S Briscoe for grading and building sidewalks on both sides of Sixth Street from the north side of Spring Street to the south side of Union Street, read and referred to Street Committee. Petition of S.M. Sorenson and J. R. Williamson for a sewer in Spring Street to an outlet or connection with some other sewer. Also for a sidewalk on the north side of Spring Street, read and referred to Committiee on Sewers. Petition of J.M. Thompson for a franchise for a Cable Road on Front Street & other streets read and referred to Street Com. Petition of Seattle Street Railway Company for an ordinance confirming their franchise for a Street Railway on Front Street from Mill Street to Pike Street, read and referred to Street Committee Remonstrance of Street Railway Company against declaring forfeited their franchise for a Street Railway on Front Street from Mill Street to Pike Street, read and tabled for the present.

Remonstrance of David Gilmore & others against granting a franchise for a Street Railway on Front Street, read and referred to Street Committee.
