A cloudy day and rain all the evening. Ben and Jim worked on the branch until it rained so they had to quit or get wet. Mr Owen plowed some this morning and went to the mill this evening. Guess he got wet.

Josie got dinner. I went to Mr Owens and bathed the baby.

Miss Willie Wooding come a few minutes this morning. She looks feeble.

The school at Renan closed to day. I think most every one was glad.

A clear windy day. Some rain last night. The men folks worked on their tobacco land all day. Mr Robert Vaden and Smith of Gretna was here today. They wanted the use of the school house for a speakin Sat night.

Josie and I both had a hand in gettin dinner.

This evenin I went to Mr Owens. Mrs Dews was there. I come home and Josie and the children all went to Marvins. Carrie showed us her new things that she got at Altavista. Marvin had made him a hot bed. Mr Owen made one this evening.

A very cool day for May. We begin to need rain.

Ben & Jim & Henry worked tobacco all day. Mr John Baily eat dinner here to day. Ben & Jim & Henry has gone to the school house to night. A patrons meeting.

Josie ironed this morning. This evening she went to Marvins. Nettie Blair & Doris Brumfield and Ada Hutcherson come here this evening. Doris wanted water mellon seed.

We heard to day that Mrs Lucie Peak started to the hospitle at Roanoke.

I am glad that Franklin is a most well a gain.

A good day. Jim is at on [sic] the tobacco. Henry went to drive the horses up this morning and Pomp kicked him. Did not hurt him very bad. We are all so glad it is no worse.

Ben went to Cedar Forest this morning a bout the school work. Mrs Car come with him home. I am glad that she came to see Josie.

This evening Henry & Reese and I went to White Falls and I fished. The children played. Jim cut some corn this evening.

Carrie & the children come down here a while this evening. Jack Harvey eat supper here tonight and will stay at the barn tonight.

A little cloudy but no rain to do any good.

Ben carried Virginia Harvey to Gretna on her way to school. Jim tied tobacco all day. Mr Owen is working on tobacco two. Jack Harvey painted most all day. Ben & Henry helped some this evening.

Two life insurance agents come here to day.

Josie got most of the dinner. I baked a peach pie this evening. I made some apple jellie. Went to the orchard and got a basket of apples.

Went to Marvins a few minutes. Come home and dressed a chicken and milked the cows.

The men folks has gone a opossome hunting to night.

Jack Harvey went from here tonight.
