After due consideration said ordinance is adopted by the following vote, towit; In favor of adoption, Thomas Clancy, John Collins, M. Densmore, Wm. A. Jennings, John Keenan, Moses Keezer and Charles McDonald. Against adoption none.

And now the Council proceeds to consider Ordinance No 266, the same being entitled as follows, towit: "A special ordinance to provide for the grading and improvement of a portion of Second, Pike, Third and Mill Streets in the City of Seattle, County of King and Territory of Washington." After due consideration the same is adopted by the following vote. In favor of adoption, Thomas Clancy, John Collins, M. Densmore, Wm. A. Jennings, John Keenan, Moses Keezer and Charles McDonald. Against adoption none.

And now the Ordinance Committee submit Ordinance No 267, the same being entitled as following, towit: "A special ordinance to provide for the grading and improvement of Union Street from the center line of Front Street to the center line of Eighth Street in the City of Seattle, County of King and Territory of Washington." After due consideration said ordinance by the following vote. In favor of adoption, Thomas Clancy, John Collins, M. Densmore, Wm. A. Jennings, John Keenan, Moses Keezer and Charles McDonald.

And now the Ordinance Committee submit Ordinance No 268, the same being entitled - "A special ordinance to provide for the construction of a sidewalk along the North Side of Jackson Street from the West Side of Eighth Street to the West Side of Ninth Street, there crossing said Jackson Street to the South Side thereof, and from there along the said South side of said Jackson Street to the West side of Twelfth Street." After due consideration said ordinance is adopted by the following vote, towit; In favor of adoption Thomas Clancy, John Collins, M. Densmore, Wm. A. Jennings, John Keenan, Moses Keezer and Chas McDonald. Against, none.

And now the Ordinance Committee submit Ordinance No 274, the same being entitled as follows towit: A Special Ordinance to provide as follows towit: " A Special Ordinance to provide for the construction of a Sidewalk along the East side of Eleventh Street from the South Side of Jackson Street to the SoughSide of Weller Street in the City of Seattle,County of King, and Territory of Washing ton" After due consideration of said ordinance is adopted by the following vote to wit: in favor of adoption Thomas Clancy John Collins, Wm a Jennings, John Keenan and Charles Mc Donald The Council proceeds to open the bids for the grading of the City lot in Second Street and the same are found to be as follows to wit: From Patrick Forest, offering to do the grading for 20 cents per yard; John Welch & Lawrence Doyle, for 26 cents per yard; A Quigley for 20 cents per yard; John Kevan for 26 cents per yard; John McClasky, Peter Peterson and William Morris

And now the Ordinance Committee submit Ordinance No 289, the same being entitled, "A special ordinance to provide for the grading and improvement of Union Street, from a point midway between Third and Fourth Streets, to the center line of Eighth Streets, in the City of Seattle, County of King, Territory of Washington."

After due consideration said ordinance is adopted by the following vote, towit; In favor of adoption Thomas Clancy, John Collins, Wm. A. Jennings, Chas McDonald and G. L. Manning. Against adoption none.

Ordered that the Council stand now adjourned.

Be it remembered that on this the 7th day of July A.D. 1882, the Common Council of the City of Seattle meets in its Council Chambers pursuant to law.

Present His Honor the Mayor L. P. Smith and councilmen Thos Clancy, Wm. A. Jennings, John Keenan, Chas McDonald, and John Collins.

Thereupon the following proceedings are had. A petition is received from the Sisters of Charity praying for the vacaton of the alley in Block 18 in Boren's additions; said petition is referred to the Street Committee.

A petition is received from Portman and Padden et al praying for a crossing on Front Street to Colemans block; said petition is referred to the Street Committee.

A petition is received from Thomas Clancy et al praying for the grading of Washington Street from Commercial Street to Fifteenth Street; said petition is granted and Ordinance Committee instructed to submit an ordianance in accordance therewith.
