141 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE pm. ordered that the Council stand adjourned until Thrusday October 5th 1882 at 7&1/2 o'clock pm attest: E S Osborne clerk Approved H G Struve Mayor Be it remembered that on this the 5th day of October 1882 the Common Council of the City of Seattle meets in its Council Chamber pursuant to adjournment. The following Officers are present to wit: His Honor the Mayor H G Struve and Councilmen O F Cosper, Charles F Clancy, Fred Gasch, Charles McDonald and U M Rasin. Thereupon the following proceedings are had: And now the Council proceeds to examine, consider & hear all complaints touching the amended and Supplemented assessment Roll for the grading & iimprovement under Ordinance No 288, which roll was filed with the City Clerk September 5th 1882. thereupon the Council makes the following changes & corrections in said rolls to wit: The assessment against Geo Kinnear on Lot 8 block 15 of Boren & Denny's plat values at $1600 for land & $50.00 for Improvements is reduced to $1500 on lot & no charge for Improvements. The assessment against L H Terry on Lot 8 in Block 45 of Denny's plat valued at $800 for lands is erased and struck from said rolls. And now all compliants against said roll of any individual assessment therein having been heard

Callahan on lot 5 in block 22 of Denny's plat valued at $1600 for land and $50 for improvements is reduced to $1500 on lot & no change for improvements The assessment against L.H. Terry on lot 8 in block 45 of Denny's plat valued at $800 for lands is erased and struck from said roll. And now all complaints against said roll or any individual assessment therein having been heard

To the Honorable the Mayor and Common Council of the City of Seattle. We the undersigned residents and property owner residing in the vacinity of the following describe lands, to wit: Lot 2, 3 and 4 in Block 18 in Maynards plat of Seattle, the same being on S.W. corner of Main and Fourth Streets, would respectfully represent thus paid. Lots are excavated below the sewage of the same, and by reason thereof there is an accumulation of rubbish and water gathered there on to the annoyance of the neighborhood. The same being offensive to smell and in our opinion is unhealthy and is a nuisance and your petitioners. Therefore pray that this honorable body cause said property to be drained and so improve the sewage thereof that it will be perpetually drained and will ever pray.
