A good day. Ben and Paul worked at home until twelve then went to Mr Dews and tied leaves.

Josie washed a big washin of clothes. This evening Mag Brumfield and four of the children come. I was glad that they did come her baby is just fine. Carrie and the little girls come. I was glad that she could get off. Marvin and the boys went to Altavista.

It was night when they got home.

A good day. Ben and Owen moved some tobacco and cut some. I helped to unload the waggon. Ben had Mags Grey and Jake. Paul had Prince and Pomp. Carried some primings to Gretna. He went to Chatham on Henry Blairs car. Josie ironed this morning and was sick all the evening. Mr Owen went to the mill to day but did not get his grinding. Will have to go a gain.

A clear colde day.

Ben killed a beef this morning. Mr Owen helped him. They both cut wood at Mags this evening. Josie washed some this evening. I stewed pumpkins to day.

I went to Carries this evening. I did not stay but a few minutes.

Janie Gravley and Effie Brumfield come here to night.

Mr Owen and Luke come in a few minutes. Mr Owen played the fiddle a little while. Ben and Josie and Janie and Effie are playing cards now.

A rainy morning. I was at Kate Harveys this morning. Kate & I went to Mag Brumfields and spent the day. We had a pleasant day. Mag had a nice dinner. Miss Jessie Kellie was there. The children went to school. I am at home to night and am glad I am.

I may get a new pen point before I try to write again.

A colde cloudy day.

Owen plowed. Jim cut wood.

Ben come from South Boston this evening. He his is not feeling well tonight. He solde Pauls tobacco to day. I don't know what it brought. He has not tolde me. Irvin Lewis come this morning and got my calf. I paid him one dollar to carrie it.

Marvin carried Kates chickens to Long Island this morning. Virginia went with him. Marvin brought Jims pigs from Renan this evening. Lewis brought them from Gretna

I went to Kates today and to see Mag. She was not at home. I come home with Marvin on the car.
